Supportive Programmes
Being in hospital is a challenging time for both children and adults. We would like to provide serives to assist both of these target groups to work through their current situation.
Children
For those who are hospitalized, the experience can be especially isolating and frightening. Without proper education and support, these children may struggle to understand the changes happening in their bodies or feel hopeless about their future.
At the Ethiopian Hospital Schools, we aim to provide a supportive environment where children can learn and grow despite their health challenges. Our proposed programmes will include art therapy and play therapy sessions that allow children to express themselves and work through any emotional trauma they may be experiencing. We will also offer educational sessions that explain hospital treatments in a way that is easy for children to understand.
Adults
Unable to afford a private hospital in Ethiopia, it is a struggle for the parents of government-hospitalized children to provide basic necessities such as medical supplies, food and clothing during their child’s stay.
We aim to provide practical care packages for parents who are struggling financially, including items such as toiletries, clothes, and blankets. Additionally, we will offer a supportive programme for parents of hospitalized children, including counselling and art therapy.
